Pecan Plantation VFD & EMS would like to provide clarification with regard to the Air Ambulance memberships. We utilize both AIR EVAC and CAREFLITE as both have Helicopter bases in Hood County. Services are based upon availability. All Pecan residents receive a water bill from AMUD and included in these bills are $1 per month charges for air ambulance memberships. The AMUD Water bill detail identifies a $1 charge per month listed as “TX EMS”. This covers both Texas EMS ground service and Air EVAC air ambulance service in Pecan and Hood County. The $35 family membership package that Pecan residents received from AIR EVAC in the mail recently is for coverage outside Hood County. Please contact AIR EVAC at 1-800-793-0010 for details.

AMUD water bills also include a $1 charge per month listed as “CAREFLITE”. This provides air ambulance coverage for Pecan and Hood County in addition to the DFW Area surrounding counties. Pecan residents are encouraged to contact CAREFLITE membership services at 1-877-339-2273 to list family members for coverage.
