As the 911 provider for Pecan Plantation and mutual aid provider for the surrounding county, Pecan Plantation Fire & EMS, Inc. is dedicated to providing quality fire protection and pre-hospital care, striving to promote the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well being of the residents, at a professional, but compassionate level.

Pecan Plantation’s Fire and EMS are the 911 providers for our community. For any emergency, call 911 and the Hood County dispatchers will alert our crews by radio. Response time is less than 5 minutes in most cases due to our central location at 9518 Monticello Drive. Do not hesitate to call 911. When in doubt, call us out!
The Pecan Plantation Fire Department holds a Class 3 Rating from the Insurance Services Office (ISO). This rating helps the local community by bringing lower insurance rates to homeowners and businesses.
From Fire/Rescue and Advanced Life Support (ALS) Medical Response, to Swift Water and High Angle Rescue Teams, along with other life safety services and focused community education efforts, our 32 fire department volunteers and 30 EMS personnel are committed to serving our community in every way we can.
Pecan Plantation EMS is a state certified BLS (Basic Life Support) to MICU (Mobile Intensive Care Unit) service with 30 active members. Ours is a unique service with a mixture of volunteers who live here and part-time paid paramedics from other EMS services in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Our crewmember’s certifications range from EMT-B (Basic) to Critical Care Paramedics. We have 3 MICU ambulances that are staffed 24/7. It is everyone’s goal to provide the best possible care to those who need us.
PPVFD & EMS has its own Board of Directors, which consists of seven volunteer residents, elected by Pecan Plantation Members. The Board of Directors for 2019-2020 are Ray Taylor – President, Bill Gerron- Vice President, Terry Winborn-Treasurer, Randy Stuart, Secretary, At Large Member-Dennis Fringeli, Jim Adams- Fire Chief, Sandra Winfield – EMS Chief. This Board usually meets on the last Thursday night of the month at the EMS building. At this time, all meetings are virtual ones.
